With a 2,893m runway and 24/7 all-weather operations, Doncaster Sheffield Airport has the capacity to handle comfortably all cargo aircraft types, up to and including the giant Antonov AN-225. The airport has recently delivered significant cargo growth, and has clear ambitions to develop its air cargo capabilities further...
'Our ambition at Doncaster Sheffield Airport (DSA) is to be known as the most friendly and efficient cargo airport in the UK' says Dayle Hauxwell, the airport's Cargo Manager.
'With 12,000 square feet of operational space and the second largest runway in the north of England, we can transport goods quickly and safely anywhere in the world.
'Between April 2013 and 2014 our combination of convenience and first-class facilities saw the amount of cargo we transported more than double.

'Since then we’ve signed a partnership with 2Excel Aviation Ltd that sees a new Boeing 727-200 aircraft based at the airport, providing further opportunities for businesses to transport their cargo across the globe.
And, says Dayle, Doncaster's strategic, central-UK location is facilitating the airport's cargo growth.
'Doncaster is on the doorstep of a huge manufacturing economy and is already home to some of the biggest logistics operators in the country.
'With a central location, constraints elsewhere and the improved access opened up by the new 'FARRRS' airport link road, we hope to be able to attract even more of these businesses and fulfil our ambition of becoming the cargo airport of choice.'
