From March 2016, Flybe will operate regular flights from Doncaster Sheffield Airport (DSA) to the key business destinations of Paris (CDG), Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS) and Berlin Tegel (TXL), establishing a 2-aircraft based operation at Sheffield City Region's airport.
The programme represents a step-change in air connectivity for Sheffield City Region and its business community. So here are the key facts and figures relating to this major milestone in DSA's development as a business airport.
Up to 500,000 additional passenger seats per year
The new Flybe programme represents a massive increase in air services from Doncaster Sheffield Airport, and a major commitment to the City Region from Europe's largest regional airline:- 8 new destinations served (including Amsterdam, Paris and Berlin)
- 42 additional weekly departures
- 70% increase in weekly departures versus DSA's current programme
- 500,000 potential additional passenger seats per year
- 50% increased passenger numbers in the year from March 2016 (projected)
- 2 Flybe Embraer 195 (118 seat) jets to be based at DSA
- 60 new direct jobs (and more in the supply chain)
13 weekly flights to Paris (CDG)
- 2x daily flights (Mondays to Fridays + Sundays), 1 x daily on Saturdays, from March 2016
- Delivering global connectivity via Air France/Skyteam onward connections from Paris CDG
- Day return flights possible for Sheffield City Region business travellers
- Yorkshire's only 2 x daily air service to/from the French capital
7 weekly flights to Amsterdam Schiphol
- Commencing March 2016
- Flybe is working with KLM to offer interlining access to KLM's global flight network from Amsterdam (i.e. through ticketing and baggage transfer)
4 weekly flights to Berlin Tegel
- Commencing March 2016
- Flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays
- Yorkshire's only scheduled service to/from the German capital
18% Year-on-Year Passenger Growth at DSA

Boosted by the new Doncaster Sheffield Airport link road...
The new 'FARRRS' Link Road, which will connect DSA directly to the M18 motorway from 2016, was a key influencing factor in Flybe's decision to expand at Doncaster Sheffield Airport:- £58 million invested in the FARRRS link road through a private-public sector funding partnership
- 15 minutes cut from all airport journey times with the new link road
- 25 minutes: the new drive time to Sheffield City Centre when the link road opens
