Anglo World Cargo, based at Doncaster Sheffield Airport has had an amazing journey over the past four years and managing director Gary Winterman tells us why he based his logistics firm in the region.
“Anglo began life in 2012 with the
remit to help businesses to move goods from one place to another as quickly,
efficiently and cost effectively as possible. Those goods have ranged from
airplanes full aid to war torn countries to cargo loads of tea and biscuits,
and from business documents and industrial equipment.
“As our name suggests we are a truly
global operation, working on road across the UK and in the air to anywhere.
“The logistics sector is huge and
location is everything. We based our business in Doncaster in the Sheffield
City Region because of its unique location and access to road, rail and port.
“Our growth is going from strength
to strength and the supply chains we are developing mean that we really can be
a gateway to the world. Recent consignments that we’ve managed across the globe
include Nepal, Kenya, Venezuela, USA and key European destinations such as
Greece and France.
“Working closely with Doncaster
Sheffield Airport, we operate the cargo on their behalf coming in and out of
the terminal. Together we are growing the business and enhancing its reputation
around the world for hassle free cargo operations.
“The amount of freight we transport has
and continues to increase significantly and this can only be positive news for
the regional economy.
