From January 2016, the new, £56m FARRRS Link Road will provide a fast, direct connection between Doncaster Sheffield Airport, iPort Doncaster UK (the UK's largest inland port), and the M18 motorway.
The road is projected to have a transformation impact on both Doncaster Sheffield Airport and Sheffield City Region's Multimodal Logistics Hub:
- The drive time from Sheffield to Doncaster Sheffield Airport will reduce to just 25 minutes
- The number of people living within 30-minutes' drive time of Doncaster Sheffield Airport will double
- The number of people living within 1 hour's drive time of Doncaster Sheffield Airport will increase from 5 to 6 million
