Amazon Selects LogisticsHubUK, Sheffield City Region for New 250,000 sq ft Fulfilment Centre

Amazon will open its second Doncaster fulfilment centre in autumn 2015 
Amazon, the online retailing giant, has selected LogisticsHubUK, Sheffield City Region as the location for its tenth fulfilment centre in the UK. Operational from the autumn, the new 250,000 sq ft facility will be located on Water Vole Way, Doncaster, creating 300 jobs in the town.


The new distribution centre will be Amazon's second in Doncaster - the first opened in 2010 at nearby Balby Carr Bank.

John Tagawa, vice president of operations at Amazon UK, highlighted th strengths of the Doncaster workforce as a factor in their choice of location for the new facility:

'Our existing Doncaster team has done an exceptional job of delivering a first rate level of service for our customers and we are delighted to open another site which will further draw upon the strong pool of talent in the area.'
