Doncaster council’s cabinet has given the go-ahead for a key new development at Robin Hood Airport Business Park.

The development will be built by a local company, the name of which has not yet been disclosed, and will see the construction of business space and associated infrastructure totalling 4,088 square metres on the site.

It is hoped that the project will create around 113 new jobs, and include £820,973 of private sector contribution.

Mayor of Doncaster Ros Jones said: “This will be first development at the Sheffield City Region Enterprise Zone in Doncaster and, together with the FARRRS link road which will open early next year, it will be the catalyst for transforming the whole area into a world-class business location.

“We are committed to playing our part in bringing jobs and growth to Doncaster and the wider region and by supporting this development it sends out a clear message that we are open for business.”

The development will be funded by a £1,010,000 business loan from the Sheffield City Region, applied for through Doncaster Council, in conjunction with a loan from the SCR’s JESSICA funding initiative.
