Sheffield City Region’s Road and Air Sector set to get Logistics event moving, March 28th

Tuesday 21 March 2017

TRANSPORT via road and air will be in the spotlight as businesses from across the Sheffield City Region gather for the next Logistics Hub UK (LHUK) event.
The breakfast event, which will take place on March 28 at Mount Pleasant Hotel, is free to attend and is open to all businesses with an interest in logistics.
Steve Swann, project manager of the LHUK project, said: “We are getting 2017 moving by focusing on transport at our first event of the year. This is a great opportunity for businesses to strengthen and build the Sheffield City Region’s Logistics Hub as a gateway to the World.
“There couldn’t be a better time to talk about transport in this region. We’ve benefitted from local infrastructure improvements with the opening of the Great Yorkshire Way, have developments underway including the National Rail College which is being built in Doncaster and have heard the region’s airport’s vision to reroute the East coast railway.
“Key note speakers will be sharing their thoughts on connectivity and giving an insight into their operations.
“This is a great opportunity to meet like-minded businesses and to showcase the fantastic work that is already taking place in logistics in this region.”
Chris Harcombe, head of aviation development at Doncaster Sheffield Airport will be speaking along with Mandy Foster, Asset Development Team Leader for Yorkshire & Humber from Highways England.
The LHUK group is a membership group established to represent powerful partnership marketing for Sheffield City Region’s logistic sector. It is a partnership of private sector companies committed to the ongoing growth, development and promotion of the logistics and distribution sector in the Sheffield City Region initially, with a view to developing improved activity with other city regions i.e. Leeds, Manchester and Hull.
